Christmas Sorrow
Lone Wolf 25-12-96

In this time of happiness

Why must I feel so sad

The distance between us

So much more than I can stand

The Christmas spirit

Just can't fill the void

The gap you have left in my heart

At this time of year

I need and want just to hold you near

The love I have for you

Could move the earth and the stars

Such a pity that you don't feel this way too

The times we could have had

I guess now we will never know

Just got to carry on alone

This Christmas sorrow has me by the heart

Looks like it's not letting go

Being alone for this special day

The hardest time I've had to survive

It's like a death sentence for my heart

My body is here but my heart is gone

At least it's only once a year

That I have to survive this hell.

The crows feet know
by D A Wigglesworth

The crows feet know

and the crows feet tell

Gramma's are old arn't they

that's why they're so smart.

The crows feet know

and the crows feet tell

Mother will soon be a gramma

to my new babies.

The crows feet know

and the crows feet tell

I too will soon be a gramma

The crows feet know

My thoughts turn on a Millennium Veteran's Day.
jasonburton

Today a little girl asked me.

Were you ever in a war?

Yes I proudly told her.

And thought of it nothing more.

Then with sincerity she told me

Have a Happy Veteran's Day!

I pondered for a moment.

As I found it rather odd.

Thanks, I softly muttered.

And with nere a nod I walked away.

I soon began to wonder.

What do I think of on this day?

Is it all the memories.

That I know will never go away.

Perhaps like you may think.

It's of those I lost along the way.

But in reality I think of them.

Almost every single day.

I could claim it to be a pain.

I feel at the end of every day.

Or perhaps it is something

Someone said.

On a dark and frightful day.

Instead I find it peculiar.

That it turns not to the past.

But more to the one who took my post.

And carried on the task.

Of ensuring that peace will last.

He gets no break today.

No ticker tape parade.

As he stands there on that line.

So that those asleep.

Do not have to be afraid.

He stands there in the sun.

Or in the poring rain.

He is there to do his job.

For him it is just another day.

And if that same little girl should ask him.

All's secure!

I'm sure he'd say.

To him I must say thank you!

For providing the relief I was so due.

In return for you I'll say

Thank you.

To all who care enough to listen.

On this Veteran's Day.

Come...
Lacey Hillman

come eat the flesh of the fruit tree with me

come eat the flesh of the tree

share the sweet juices of the forbidden flesh

come eat the flesh of the tree

let the juices run down your golden body

come eat the flesh of the tree

savor the warmth of the suckle breast

come eat the flesh of the tree

fulfill your salty lips with sweet fruity kisses

come eat the flesh of the tree

surrender to the sweet flesh of the tree

the sweet flesh of the body

come eat the flesh of the tree

My Dad
Megan

My heart feels sorrow

At the things he sometimes says to me

Claims I'm "terrible"

But that's hearsay; he never tries to see

He judges by the looks of things

Won't even try to hear

Why can't Dad think thinks out?

So I won't feel tension when he is near

He is momentarily proud of things

Though my dad's hard to please

I try to do my best for him

But he makes my "A"s feel like "C"s

I know deep down he's proud of me

Dad's just not the type to show it

But how come when I mess up

He'll always verbally let me know it?

The good things that I do

Are the things he usually forgot

The "bad" things, however

Were always the reasons we fought

It seems like Dad doesn't respect me

Or the things I do

Maybe it just feels that way

But it's mom who helps me see things through

These are my feelings about my dad

They're sad and I don't like them

Until the day he's missed my mom will be the rose;

My dad, just the stem

I Miss You So Much...
Sean Briere

It's when the wind is blowing at my hair,

Walking out the door and feeling the clean spring air.

For awhile everything didn't feel so sure,

Mow i'm not aloud to see you anymore.

You fixed my candle when I broke the wick,

You took care of me when I got sick.

You brought me up so very well,

To get to you i'd go through hell.

This is the way it definitely the way it wasn't suppose to be,

You were suppose to have the same address as me.

You called and said everything will be all right,

But how can it with out you in sight?!

Maybe some day when things are nice and calm,

I'll finally be back with my heart, my world, My Mom.

--------------------------------------

Grandma
Jeremy Saving

She left us in a heartbeat

I was so sad, I couldn't speak

I thought about all the time we spent

But to keep from crying, I thought about where she went

An angel came down that Heaven sent

And up to live with God my Grandma went

She is in a better place now

Living a better life

She would want me to move on with my life

But it is so hard, I miss her so much

I will never forget how my life she touched

PLATTE RIVER CANOE RUN
Eileen J. Hawkins

Pond lilies mid pads of green

O'er murky water flow.

Would that life were so serene

As within its paths we row.

Pale lavender lengths

In creamy petals soft.

Green stems so succinct;

Proud blossom held aloft.

Lazy day, sun is high,

Lush trees with birds song ring.

Time free as a butterfly,

Fat frog teases a fly on wing.

Nature's bosom comforts still

When life becomes precarious.

To choose to use at our own free will,

These memories we hold and cherish.

-----------------------------------

The Ring
Steve Arnold

Close to the door

He paused to stand

As he took his class ring

Off her hand

All who were watching

Did not speak

As a silent tear

Ran down my cheek

And through his mind

The memories ran

Of the moments they walked

And laughed in the sand

But now her eyes were so terribly

Cold

For he would never again

Have her to hold

They watched in silence

As he bent near

And whispered the words...

"I Love You" in her ear

And touched her face and started to

Cry

As he put on his ring and wanted to die

And just then the wind began to blow

As they lowered her casket

Into the snow

This is what happens to man alive....

.... When friends let friends....

Drink and drive

This is sad but true

And it could happen to you.

Wilderness Man
Tim Orme

When I was young and my father would fish

in the backs of the hills and braided streams

of Idaho, I would clumsily stroll along the

beaches, looking for the perfect rock.

Not one that was flat as a skipping stone,

but one that was round as a baseball, and

would plunge gracefully into the river.

Skipping objects across the water was not my

enjoyment. In fact it was just the opposite.

I enjoyed throwing rocks for the sheer

satisfaction of watching their wobbly

rotation, and listening to the plummet

blissfully into the water.

It was my version of a pocket sized

ocean wave, crashing to the shore.

I was however, to quote my father,

"disturbing the fish."

Gypsy Dance
Cliff Schumacker

An hour past dusk, steadfastly

I hold my gaze at the moon

Hoping to steal a glimpse

Of the gypsy spirit

An ancient whose dance is

Giddy and brash and sly

Engaging my senses, mind pictures set afloat

A gulp of brandy, a gust of wind off a crashing shore

Rose petals treaded down my spine

I'm caught enticed and rapt

As the stars frolic and

Smile and glimmer and flirt

While the ancient moon looks on

Chiding me to join

The bawdy gypsy dance

On The Coast
Jeffrey D Cook

Between evening and twilight

Fire of the sun, Forging the clouds gold

Cool, Alkaline, salt on my lips

Left from soft breeze, that weighs heavy

On my eyes and on my mind.

Dead fish, the waves, and wind,

Zealously, forcing the scent up my nostrils

Sinking deep into a liquid desert

Drawing my feet up,

The suck of the Earth letting go.

Lunar pearl, shadowing the sunset

Thin skin of water sliding over my toes

Static of the ocean peaking, cresting

I can smell the infinite summer

And see the curve of the Earth

ONCE SAID
sometimepoet

Someone once said that

clouds are the dust from

God's footsteps.

I am happy to spend

my life walking in

a dense fog.

-----------------------

Felt like fireworks going off in my head,

Blasts of bright colors and completely exciting,

Felt like floating through Heaven on a cloud,

Soft as a pillow and just as inviting,

Felt like the sweetest kiss,

Lingering forever and given with so much meaning,

Felt like a hug wrapped tightly around my waist,

Protective and always there for me,

Felt like rays of sunshine peaking through a treacherous snowstorm,

My savior and forever welcome,

Felt like standing under a glistening waterfall of affections,

Making it possible for dreams to come,

Felt like running through a field full of beautiful wildflowers,

So daring and passionately romantic,

Felt like watching a gorgeous sunset with your love,

Completely unforgettable and amazingly eccentric,

Felt like accomplishing a fantastic goal that was so far in the distance,

Now unbelievably reachable,

Felt like walking through twilight on a summer's night,

A smile to last a lifetime and beyond...

California Dreaming
Lilith

One will drink himself into the ground,

One will help him.

One is bringing a life into this world,

One will leave her.

One will finally grow up,

One will force him.

One will throw her life away,

Many will help her take this path.

California dreams aren't always what they seem,

Lives are shattered in the blink of an eye.

Story after story of pain,

These are the ones that don't make the news.

My best friend will change because of alcohol,

His ex-girlfriend will no longer care.

My littler sister will grow up before her time,

Her boyfriend saw to that.

An abuser will see his child become like him,

His girlfriend will never leave him.

An angel will end up on the streets,

Men will always use her.

These are California nightmares,

These are the stories no one wants to hear.

I know these stories,

I watched the people live them.

A FEATHER IN THE SKY
Dedicated to J. B. and T. B.
Venus

Now that you are free you may fly

Like a feather in the sky

The wind will take you amazing places

You will see things that were in your sweetest dreams

But since the wind only has you

Our hearts will always miss you

But the memories that are kept in our hearts

Will keep our hearts so full

Tears from our hearts will build a pond

From which you will swim in peace

Now that you are free you may fly

Like a feather in the sky

Haiku Sextet
Alan Blender

Your undressed body
Sends waves of delight through me
As I watch you descend

Touching your soft skin
I smell the scent of orchids
Rising from your soul

My body heat quickens
My legs quiver I inhale
I am gasping for air

I kiss your sweet lips
Electric flashes of light
Cross before my eyes

You are my soulmate
You are my sun moon and stars
My life shines through you

Taking your hand we
Walk away slowly and free
Our fingers entwined

"Afternoon picnic"
Alton MacKinnon.

In the middle of an afternoon picnic, she's cold.

Freshly baked rolls sealed tightly with cellophane are every mans dream.

Interrupted by a clap of thunder, she expects the rage.

But first, damage control.

Barking, she will never grow accustomed to.

The dog runs freely through the park,

he should be leashed.

It would take ten men uniformed men to combat his power.

The children, sliding freely down the patch,

strike the ground with a turbulent smack!

The playground is abandoned at once.

The dog continues to bark.

The skies persistently grow darker.

She runs from children to basket.

Frantically reaching for her freshly baked rolls,

she refuses to surrender them to the dog.

She is bitten.

Children are bitten.

After all every man dreams of fresh rolls.

American Dream
Margaret Collins Stoop

Angels sleep just down the hall,

the gentle rhythm of their sweet breath

inaudible,

for the pounding in my chest.

I am awake - wide awake

in someone else's dream.

I can't recall the point at which

anothers fantasy became my reality.

Nor do I care to make such discernments.

All I know is this:

here I am.

And I am alone.

My mind

a place of virtue

where you find fresh baked pie

a place of refuge from the world

that spins around me, around you

where for a moment all is still

My mind

is a world of its own

it revolves around me

i will hide here until it is safe

until you have bruised my body, cut my flesh

Who's To blame
Adrian Edley

Am I really the one that's on good, not worth a shit, or could it all be

misunderstood. or is it you that has no clue like clueless, cause your attempts

to attract are foolish, an attitude which is high-schoolish. are we scrubs or do you have

no gratitude for all we are able to do. heart breaking causing chest aching

cause you give me no time to prove the lies that you despise false, your lost,

in the many speculations brought up in conversations broadcasting like radio stations

across air waves, soul craves for someone to look inside from the start and let our minds

collide instead of our bodies, which provides a foundation and no misinterpretations in

feelings. respect can't be demanded if your ass landed in my bed before the thought crossed my mind. then you whine cause that's our only connect, and recollect of how I sex is the only impression left. So now what, for your pleasure you gave up the

treasure locked between your thighs, with no measures taken to disguise, or leave

anything for the imagination. So much aggravation caused by the separation of your hips

and your still runnin your lips. How could you allow then call us foul because

of our lack of words to you. when it was time to talk your tongue got caught

cause you had dick on the brain, and still all the blame is on me. I take half the

responsibility cause in actuality you were my accomplice, or in collusion, which could be

the reason for confusion between sexes. these thought often vex me and hex

countless others like voodoo, sistas who do you think your foolin, not me i'm

schoolin like your professors. for your no lesser than what you make of yourself

and since the world could be on it's twelfth hour, the end, let your

flower bloom before you give it, your quite exquisite like a visit the heavens

from my head down to my size elevens I care so deeply for you, my sistas.

THE DYING OF THE LIGHT
Justinian Dafe © 07 June 1998

Spree!, Black night unfolding.

Vermin in abundance smile in glee

at tortured wrecks of traumatic flight

And the blackness of the rushing of the night

Rat tat tat. Rat tat tat tat. The end of yet another sight

Forty feet drop. Then the snap of that sharp crack

Morning shadows, purple haze, twisted rope

Immortalise the Ogoni Man of hope

Water, black, reeking. Unetched grave .

Hooded by sanguine grieving sky

The passing of 9 Eagles brave.

Diaphanous abyss. Yet another lie.

Rat tat tat tat. Rat tat tat tat, and the dying of the light

Lonely Sunset Part 2
By Stardust

The light dulls,

The air becomes cold,

The sun is completely gone,

The night grows old,

Yet it retains its beauty,

Peaceful as before,

It seems like a different sky,

One told of in tales of lore,

A sky looked upon in moonlit dances,

Dances filled with lasses and lads,

I think of how happy they must have been,

Strangely I begin to feel sad,

Something is missing,

Something isn't right,

I guess I miss you,

I know I love you,

I wish you could be here on this glorious night

--------------------------------------

You and I . . . and these beautiful days are streaked with the madness of hot rains like tears rolling down somber gray skies/ and ravens half-mad fly looping circles above smoking war-torn ruins and miraculous crimson sunsets/ but you and I, we know that the dolphins laugh with perfect gemstone eyes and life figured out amidst the impossibilities of tentative first steps and the shifting sands of our shared loves/ and we smile into a crazy Van Gogh sun entertaining fleeting glimpses of true purpose/ we raise overflowing flasks in salutation for the insanity of our gamble/ and men a thousand-fold more absurd and deranged have led lives devoid of risk and flavorless celebration/ but you and I, we know that we've lost our souls along with our way/ but still we find sweet release in the flight of ravens half-mad . . .

"Listen"
-Adrianne

If you listen hard enough,

you can hear the whisper in the tall grass.

It whispers a song of a new season

SPRING! At long last!

And if you listen long enough,

you can hear the hoofprints pound.

They sing a song of freedom.

There is a joyfulness to that sound.

And if you listen deep enough,

you can hear my heart beat your name.

It sings a song of happiness,

and my world is no longer the same.

And if you listen close enough,

you can hear the peaceful dove.

It sings a song that i cannot

and tells you of my love.

Love
-Krystal Cohn

Love is pure & true,

Love is unforbidden,

Love is cherished through & through.

Love can be trusted,

Love can be blind,

Love can be hidden among your mind.

Love has been harsh,

Love has been unfair,

Love has been so very, very rare.

--------------------------------

At night, she lies awake in bed

with fear that he might come

Never to escape the dread--

an endless nightmare she suffers from

Her innocence is far removed

by his subtle, unnatural touches

Closing her eyes, she dreams of escape

from within his sinful clutches

"Tell anyone of our secret," he whispers,

in the cruelest tone of voice,

"And I'll make living hard for you--it's your choice."

Never able to cry aloud

she endures in silent pain

What's left of her future, seems so bleak--

she has nothing at all to gain

Yet, somewhere there, deep inside

lies hope to end the misery

The "secret" she keeps

will soon be heard, then

a brighter life she'll see

GOODBYE MY KING.
Jabuka

ONCE UPON A FOGGY NIGHT, MOSQUITOES LANDING ON MY SKIN TRYING TO BITE.

I THINGS OVER WITH THE OTHER ME AND WE DECIDED THAT THE BOTH OF US WOULD

LIKE TO SEE US FREE. ON THIS FOGGY NIGHT, MY KING HELD ME TIGHT. WE WALKED

AND WE TALKED AND I HAD TO TELL HIM THEN THAT I WISHED TO NEVER BE IN ARMS

AGAIN. AS THE NIGHT WAS ENDING I DREAMED MY KING NEAR I WHISPERED THE

WORD "FREEDOM" INTO MY KINGS EAR.

-------------------------------------

Sky's black like the shadow in my mind

consuming night like cancer's bite

Dark clouds roll high above the rise

Air's damp, Fog spits in my eyes

Some thing screams, gunshots in the distance

sirens echo without resistance

Streets empty, Fear is in the air...tonight

Dead rise in high attendance

Rude awakening from hell's sentence

Angry skeletons fill the streets

Death's army has come to kill the American dream

Then everything glows red with fire

Burning everything with death's desire

Satan smiles, revenge never comes so swiftly

But in 1999 hell comes to take me

All my life i screwed off in church

But i never knew how much i would burn

Dipping in lava is a cold shower

Nothing compares to the torture that follows

Gripped with fear i go lower and lower

Into the fire i go forever

Can't think, cant do anything

Pain throughout me from the acid flame

I realize my suffering will never go away

in this place chained down here I stay

In this place I will wither away

I wish I could die but I keep coming back

I keep burning, and I never turn to ash

This pain has a grip on me...

To the point where i cannot scream

I try to cry but the tears burn me to

I'm in hell and there is nothing i can do

16 years for the next 16 million

Then after that 16 trillion

Each second, the torment gets worse and worse

I'm dead forever and ever more

This is reality, the fire that consumes me

It's not a lie, like out of some movie

I wish it were a dream from which I could wake

For my pain is more then I can take...

I wrote this a few weeks ago. the reason i wrote it is because in church you

never hear much about hell. you always hear about the goodness of god, not

that there is anything wrong with it, but i think people have a very moderate

picture of hell. i wrote this poem to enlighten people on hell. it says in

the bible that hell is a place of eternal torment, so that means the most awful

thing that exists in this world cannot ever begin to compare to the fear and

horrors that hell possess. nobody wants to scare you into religion...but

what's not to be scared of? -Chris Olson

I Think We Might Be Lunatics
sparklylady

What he said to me on the day of parting were

Words of sickness, grey infantile palsied threads

That had been hastily crammed into his mouth

To resemble an excuse, some iota of care.

Words like pathetic quivering strands of spittle and vomit

That made me want to reach inside him and rip

Out the dark heart

He pretended not to have.

To be torn from my suckpad of monotony;

Wrenched bruised and wrathful from fuggy existence -

T'was like surfacing from a near exquisite drowning.

An jagged sketch on intangible paper, and the eraser

Swept nonchalant over the pencil strokes.

Indignation was a screw for which I had not the driver

And yet I bled -

But he pretended not to have it.

The sheaves of He And I fluttered gently

To our wall-to-wall carpeting, lamenting

The halting torque of Us, grinding slowly.

Fat slits of distortion tore rampant through

The velvet of life and I held head in hand,

Knowing I had never been more than a whistle,

But yet he had played,

Pretending I was the flute.

The Stroke of Midnight
By Colleen Carroll

For one moment at the Stoke of Midnight,

The world stands still for a heartbeat,

Darkness becomes light,

And suddenly I can see in the blackness,

All my dreams light up,

Like fireflies circling around my head,

Flickering with hope for the future,

And Time dances a song of joy,

And I dance along,

Hand in hand with tomorrow

I DUNNO
Zanna

Another sunset, revealing the same stars

Lying in the same bed, in the same room

The same ambitions burning my mind

Another day leading nowhere

Another night and I Dunno

The same dreams of something different

Of brighter sunrises and freer days

Some day I know them

I won't be dreaming, I'll be living them

Until then the ambitions will burn my mind

And the same dreams of something different

These stars will shine brighter for me

In the night that will follow the day

That will see the realization of my dreams.

---------------------------------------

I stand on the edge. Looking at the world down below.

Dreams rant and rave threw my mind like falling stars.

Wishes unable to come true as each moment passes.

I step close to the edge.

Now able to feel the lifeless air brushing up against the already chilled skin.

Glimpsing into the face a fate. See what one always dreads.

Perceiving and empty, disheartening, cold future.

Again stepping closer to the edge.

Now able to consider the one Solution to the problem that makes sense.

Looking downwardly.

Thoughts swim as finally you come to the conclusion you where so afraid to face.

Stepping your ultimate step up to the edge.

With a small glimpse backward you see the suffering, fear, anger, and dread.

Now all is clear and calm as you lift the one-foot of fait and leaning forward.

Looking down..Down..Down.

All agony is gone

Fear no longer exists.

Now you see the world rushing up like a stampede of wild horse running by.

Some people tap a vein, or snort drugs

All you have to do is STEP up to the edge and face the cold hard truth.

See majestic mountains, feel the spirit of the trees
the air of nature's comfort is the air that I now breathe.

A mother and a daughter and a friend from far away
enjoyed this very moment; it was the start of their last day.

I can hear their distant laughter, three women full of life
Watch each of them in comfort, unknowingly unsafe.

As nature unfolds its darkness, a nightmare becomes so real
Raging violence, unheard screams - I can't imagine how they feel.

Numbed by silent sadness, I now look at the sky.
My knotted thoughts untying, my eyes begin to cry.

For a moment I am forgetting the horror they had to face.
Their scream is slowly fading; what a moment that is.

No forgiveness will salvage this beautiful place
as the laughter of three women forever we miss.

Is this a dagger or a crucifix I see?
Is this for real or just a dream?

Would another family of three
have lost their lives instead of them?

My hands are slowly slipping into the soil of this sacred land
How can something so evil happen - I do not understand.

A mother and a daughter and a friend from far away
I do not know them, have never met them,

but my heart aches for these three,
and I find myself praying for their family

If bad breath could kill (alternative poem)

I hate to see you kissin' that guy

I want to punch him out of sight

If only my bad breath

Could blow him dead

I'll do it without

Hesitation I bet.

First Love
lyndsie

When your heart says to hold on,

But your head says to let go.

When you no longer dread the mornings,

But still look for the night.

When your fears of losing someone grows,

But the bond between you has never been so strong.

When people tell you it won't last,

But instead you try harder to make it.

And when the days grow cold,

Seeing them makes it warm,

That's when you know you're in love.

When the wind whispers in your ear,

And feel as if you're floating in the air.

That's how you know it's your first love.

-----------------------------------------

They say that "to be in Love is to happy".

If that is true I must be in heaven.

When my Love is not near me depression creates its self in me.

God why have you punished me like this by taking my love away from me.

Which is also my happiness.

She is my sunshine, my dove, and my moon.

My sunshine because she lights up my life.

My dove because she is the symbol of peace in me.

My moon because she lights up my path.

That path was gloomy, and dark before I met my shining star.

She is my happiness my one and only true love.

"Butterfly Woman"
Lightheart

Butterfly Woman am I,
Soaring down from the heavens and sky.

I come to teach gentle lessons of love,
From the Divine I carry the peace of the Dove.

Painful and lonely, I'm not often heard,
In patience and in silence, I must spread the word.

I flit around with pure love in my soul,
Touching only those who's hearts are aglow.

I am beautiful, strong and meant to be free,
To net me and keep me, your pain it would be.

I am the symbol of freedom that we all must live,
Without it we shall suffer, no truth could we give.

As our lives do change, we slowly transform,
If fear overpowers us, our wings will be torn.

Delicate on the outside, yet strong within,
Please let me love you, and soak my love in.

Forever-
-Byran Edmunds

You've had your heart played with

Something you'd hope wouldn't happen to you

All that you need here

Is some of my loving glue

I'll take every piece

Bit by bit

Put it back together

Until the perfect fit

I will replenish everything that was lost

Tell me all your fears

And I'll rid of them,

Wipe away all of your tears

With all your shattered pieces

Scattered by the wind in time

I will search for every one

Until that heart is mine

These pieces might take forever

To put back together

But as long as we're together

Then I will wait forever

SINGING A BIT TOO LOUD
Walter Sackett

As a small child in the pew, I heard little of the sermon, and not much of what the old folks said. But to this day I'm impressed by the strength of the woman, towering above my head. She prayed with conviction, followed in the word, and listened with calm assurance. But what struck me most, was when we stood for the hymn. She had us all join in the chorus. The folks all around us would stare in amazement, as we sang at the top of our lungs. Her voice rang out high and clear. The gates of heaven would open. The angels would join in a glorious shout, the notes held loud and long. Some folks would gawk, and some would whisper, "she's singing a bit to loud." "The Lord inhabits his praise", she would say. And we new that in this she was right. For in her life, in her love, we could all see God. In her soul, in her walk, in her way. As I've walked my own path with her song very proud, I've made it through some painful hours. Facing life as a celebration, with a spirit of praise, was the lining on many dark clouds.. With the memory of Mom and her powerful praise, I teach my own kids, "Open soul to God." Inhabit us in our praise, dear Lord, and keep us Singing a bit too Loud.

LOVE??
By Calvin Borelli

One of the most powerful human drives

And yet I deny myself from it.

I act scared of it but yet I want it so bad.

Like a puppy I want to pounce on it and hold

It tight as I can also like a puppy meeting

A new animal I'm Scared to touch it and yet

I want it so bad and don't know what to do.

Like a big gorge in my stomach that needs to

be filled and I'm afraid to fill it.

But, the gorge just gets bigger and eventually

It swallows me!!

---------------------------

As I try to apply with a sigh;

These words to paper and I feel a little safer.

The coherent, inaudible phrases

Leave indomitable signs affecting awed faces.

Not a boastful cry to arms,

But a feeling of stability you shall come to no harm.

Without you my emptiness lingers.

And your warming touch to my lips from your fingers.

Then a burning feeling inside my belly.

Will I see you again?

Will I feel you again?

Will I hear your soft voice?

No telling.

C.S. Axelsen

----------------------------------------

You say that you love me

My heart says you don't

You say that you will

My heart says you won't.

Your dreams and desires

Were first above all

Now your sitting there lonely

With no one to call.

After so many heartbreaks

I stayed so confused

You took me for granted

And my love you abused.

Then destiny called me

It was time to be free

I had to find someone

Who would also love me.

I pray that you learn love

Before you get old and gray

So you can be happy

Like I am today.

"Love Letter"
Andrea L. Carrillo

At the thought of me does your heart beat seem to race? Do I consume your thoughts even at your most hectic times throughout the day? Does your heart ache, long for me when you're lying awake at night thinking of me?

As the night rolls in and I settle myself alone in my bed my thoughts are on you. As I close my eyes and lift my covers up near my face I can still smell your sent on them and my thoughts run wild of our time together. I settle back and visualize your arms around me, so soft yet strong. My body fills with such strong emotions as I can feel the sensation of your warm breathe on the back of my bare neck. I drift softly into my dreams of the night, which are constantly filled with you my love.

I find myself waking in the night to reach out for your touch and my heart aches as I realize that you are not there. I return to the one thing that will keep me content until I can touch you again, my dreams.

My eyes close again and I run the tips of my fingers down my neck and softly brush them against my lips dreaming that it's your touch instead of my own sending shivers down my spine. I become so overwhelmed by emotions I drift away to that special place inside of me where you are still with me. I begin to touch my own lips believing that they are yours, finding myself yearning and longing for you more and more until finally my insides rapture. Do you know what I feel with one touch from your soft hands or just a long gaze into your eyes. I live for the night that I can have you all to myself again, and I am gracious that God created dreams. For without them, my love, our time apart would be unbearable. Until our eyes meet again and I can ly in your arms again each night, I will meet you in a place where our distance has no barrier. So when and if you do feel as I do, at times when the days seem to drag on and the yearning seems to become stronger with each breath, do as I do my love, dream of me.

LOVE IS BLIND...
Lizette Ann dela Cruz

for people who don't want to see,

who can't accept the true colors

of the person they love

... these are the people who will

be forever miserable. They can never be happy

because they will never be satisfied

... they will always long for the person to

change to someone they've dreamed of

AND THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN

... why prolong the unhappiness?

---------------------------------

I LIT ALL THE CANDLES; I WAITED RIGHT THERE

TO TOUCH THE LIPS, CARESS THE HAIR

YOU CAME TO ME SOFTLY, THE SHEETS WERE BRAND NEW

FILLED THE ROOM WITH RED ROSES, AND PICTURES OF YOU

YOU SAID IT WAS LOVE; I KNEW IT UNTRUE

STILL TOOK OFF YOUR DRESS, AND STOCKINGS TOO

I KNEW NOT THE FUTURE; THE PRESENT UNCLEAR

SUDDEN FEAR CAME OVER ME; WHY WERE YOU SO DEAR?

WE PLAYED IN THE GARDEN; THE SUN AND THE SMELL

NOW ITS NEAR FREEZING; LIVES TURNED TO HELL

SOMETIMES I MISS YOUR SMILE; NO MORE ROSES FOR YOU

BUT REALLY WHAT I MISS- YOUR PEACH SHAMPOO

BUT NOW I'VE MOVED ON; NO TIME TO PLAY DEAD

AND SOON ILL FORGET YOU; CANT MESS WITH MY HEAD

I KNOW THAT YOU'RE SORRY; I'M GLAD THAT WE MET

BUT YOU WERE WITH HIM, AND YOU FEEL REGRET

"SO GOOD LUCK WITH LIFE", I SAY WITH A SMILE

CAUSE I KNOW IT WILL SUCK; YOUR LIFE IN DENIAL.

LOSS OF MY LUMBERJACK :C)
by aLySoN bLaiR

In the dark, November morning I rise

Wiping away tears from last night's bottled cries

Peering into the mirror at my still-bloodshot eyes

My tears shall keep on rolling until my pillow dries

The frost is on the window

He tramps his size 13 boots through the snow

He's drawn out of the woods my lantern's curious glow

But my tears still stream at a steady flow.

Bereavement of something lost

I count the mounting cost

This breath turns to frost

Like his truck's grey, smoky exhaust

Thousands of broken, milky-white, calcium bones

Could not mount my heart's breaking pain

The foliage of my love had overgrown

But it was washed out with Heartbreak's poison rain.

lamp shades darkened in the sounds of spring

playing her harp strings within the chest of winter

dismal

retreat of flowering servitude

she sits marrying the collapse of the ever faithful sovereign sky

awake and beaming what can never be seen

within tear strains

and longitudinal happiness

abstract pitiful petals

broken and rusted in the shade of ground

and the depressed oak

running her finger nails down the backs of fortune tellers

craving the sighs of plentitude

and the signs of mortality

a silent death

the death of decay placed

carefully beneath the fourth tarot card

as spring leaves the room

slowly leaving behind crisp memories in her wake

i know i've found the one

the one i've been searching for

i get that feeling in side

every time i'm with her

now the time has come

the time for her to go

i know i don't want her to go

but maybe it's the best

though our love will never rest

i know it hurts now

but i can help stop the pain

even though your gone

please always sing this song

i try and visit yes i'll try

but it just tears my heart up

when i see you cry

for all the good byes we took for granite

one never thought it'd be forever

so here it is my last good bye

please Jennifer, please don't cry

A Poem for a special one.

My soul looks for you,

W/we were VT,

one of the couples,

Ann Landers advises to get counseling,

where are you now?

When you told Me you were sick

I encouraged you,

When you told Me you were going to die

I couldn't speak,

When you told Me you hate Me

I couldn't walk away.

I sit alone, no other haunts My thoughts as you do

No other brightens My life as you,

O/our F/friends inquire about you,

and I, not interested in talking about you,

feel the pain of your illness,

feel the loss of you,

feel you.

Wishing On A Star
Jamie Catherine Mott

Each day goes by

Without a call

First spring, then summer, then comes fall

I wish upon a star,

that you won't be very far.

Month by month,

Night by night,

Why do we have to fight?

I'm just wishing on a star

Just wondering where on this Earth you are.

Wishing and praying

dreaming and waiting

Day by Day,

And Hour by hour!!!

The time flies by,

Without a simple Hi!

The days pass by,

I just am too shy.

Spending time, just.....

Mad
A. J. S.

Sometimes they laugh and they call me insane.

Because I talk with my hands when I try to Explain.

My speech and my past, they have left me this way.

I guess sometimes I really can't tell them what I wanted to say.

The say that I' crazy, that I'm why I'm this way.

I'm really not crazy, And I am not insane.

My past it still haunts me, my future it stalks,

Around shadows, Everywhere that I walk.

So maybe I don't sound like them when I talk.

That is no reason for them to laugh at my tears,

That is no reason to mock my dark fears.

I have kept memories, I have kept them for years.

They would cry to if they had to deal with what's in here.

Sometimes I'm happy, sometimes I'm blue,

So maybe they change in a minute or two.

They don't understand me, I know this is true.

I'm usually ahead of them, in all that they do.

Sometimes I try to talk and the words don't come right.

Sometimes I cry myself to sleep at night.

Sometimes I can't do things as hard as I try.

That doesn't mean I am out of my mind.

If you're convinced that I'm truly insane.

If you don't understand, you have you can blame.

I know I'm not crazy, I like me this way.

I'm just smart, and just different, that's how I explain.

I'm me and you're you, and I like it that way.

Not All Things Must Change

When I was young

I didn't know much

I was free-spirited and carefree

But maturity has set in

And I have grown up....

Not all things must change

maturity and age

They are things that come with time

You can still be free-spirited and carefree

A child at heart

Having fun with no worries

OSLO SKYSCRAPER
Justinian Dafe

SITTING IN AN OSLO SKYSCRAPER ONE NIGHT

OBSERVING A MYRIAD OF CITY LIGHTS

AGAIN OCCURRED TO MY SOUL'S DELIGHT

HOW FUTILE IS LIFE'S MATERIAL FIGHT

LOOKING UP, OVERWHELMING, STARLIT SIGHT

LIKE MOLECULAR, ATOMS, ELECTRONS IN FLIGHT

FREEDOM FROM THE UNTOLD MISERY OF THE LIFE

CAN ONLY BE REDEEMED THROUGH LIFE'S STRIFE

SOUL PERSONALITY CARVED, EXPERIENCE RIFE

SURE IT FEELS LIKE THE CUTTING KNIFE

BUT NOW I SORE HIGHER THAN THAT HIGH

THERE IS NO NEED TO FEAR THAT ONE DAY I'LL DIE

LEAVE ME IN MY SKY SCRAPER, AND OSLO'S CITY LIGHTS

DON'T PLACE YOUR JUDGMENTS, ON MY RIGHTS

ONE DAY THERE WILL BE AN ULTIMATE SOLUTION

TO MANS DEGRADATION, TO HIS ANIMALISATION

I'LL LEAP FROM CLAY SOD MATERIALIZATION

ENVISAGE THE ULTIMATE LIBERATION

BUT TILL THAT DAY DON'T JUDGE ME, IN MY CAPER

JUST LEAVE ME IN BRIGHT LIGHT, IN MY OSLO SKY SCRAPER

MOMENTS
David M. Bayliss

WITH THE LIGHT OF THE MOON STROLLING ALONG THE WATERS EDGE ARM IN ARM

MIRROR IMAGES OF OUR SILHOUETTE WALTZ WITH THE STARS AS THEY DANCE

MEMORIES OF MEETING AND BEING OVERWHELMED BY YOUR BEAUTY AND CHARM

THE CHANCE WE TOOK TO FIND TRUE LOVE AND ROMANCE

WHISPERING "I LOVE YOU" AND THE SOUND OF THE GENTLE WAVES THE SILENCE IS BROKEN

THE IMPULSE TO STOP, PASSIONATELY TO KISS AND SEEING THE SHINE OF THE MOON IN YOUR EYES

GOD AS OUR WITNESS, FRIENDSHIP, TRUST AND HONESTY IN THOSE VOWS SPOKEN

KNOWING OUR LOVE WILL LAST LONGER THAN THE EARTH AND THE SKIES

WARMEST SENSATION OF LOVE AS WE EMBRACE FOR THAT NEVER-ENDING KISS

BEATING OF HEARTS, THE FLOATING FEELING OUR SOULS WITH THE STARS AND HEAVENS ABOVE

LIFE AS IT TURNS, LOCKED IN OUR CARESSING HUG THE WORLD WE DO NOT MISS

THROUGH THICK AND THIN, GOOD TIMES BAD TIMES THE BONDING IS OUR LOVE

JOY OF YOUR LOVE INSPIRES ME AND MAKES LIFE WORTH LIVING

HAPPINESS IN MY HEART, CHERISHING THESE MOMENTS AND THE CARING IN YOUR TOUCH

AS SURE AND THE SUN, MOON, AND STARS RISE EVERYDAY TO YOU MY LIFE AND LOVE I'M GIVING

TODAY AND EVERYDAY WHAT I'M SAYING IS THAT I LOVE YOU SO MUCH

Sweetest Ever
Brandon DeVall

In all my life you're the sweetest ever.

The one that made me so proud of myself, the one who is clever.

Love and comfort of having you makes me realize my dream came true.

My feelings for you mean so much to me I'll always love you and be there for thee.

When looking in to your eyes I see more then what is there, I see an Angel

that takes away my despair.

Our time to end shall be never for I'll love you ever and ever.

For all my life I have been looking for the one who is most uplifting.

I have found the sweetest ever it is you my love, for there is no better.

And as the night falls in

The story of us begins

And the voices which tell the story

Belong to just you and me

Sweetness in harmony, blissful in love

Never a touch of discord

As we talk word for word

Our voices leave a trail of hope

For others to follow

You are the harmony

I am the melody

Twirling, we hold hands

As our voices reach the heavens above

And as God learns of our love

Our souls entwine, forever walking next to each other

Never in this world will we ever be apart

Our photo albums will be full of treasures that we take

And our souls will be light with the sweet memories we make

As the night falls in, the story of us begins

And the voices that tell the story, they belong to you and me

"With Our Hands"
tobias shea

With my hands, I build

and I destroy.

I bring the world to prosper,

and I am there to see it fall.

With our hands, we hold each other up,

and we tear each other down.

We bring life into this world,

and we are there to see it end.

With our hands, we plant the food we will eat,

and we harvest trees to make our homes.

We fend for ourselves,

while destroying what keeps us alive.

With my eyes, I see all these things,

I see the contradiction of this life.

I wonder when we will learn to know the difference,

between prospering and falling, holding up and tearing down,

fending for ourselves, and knowing when enough is enough.

His heart beats like slow, southern comfort.

Like whiskey, he intoxicates me.

He moves me like a rhythm,

A waltz as he holds on to me tightly.

Like a long drag from my cigarette,

He feeds my craving, my addiction.

I long for each second beside him,

Like an age old, secret connection.

I feel like I know hi like a loved one,

But the mystery of him still surrounds me.

He's like a song I've never heard before,

But his lyrics speak from within me.

-------------------------------

Love's Scar

Here I sit, unable to stop the teardrops,

Never thought, I would see the day our love would stop,

But it came, ripped apart my whole reality,

My heart, another victim of love's casualties,

Unable to maintain, my heart can no longer withstand,

The fact, that you are now in the arms of another man,

Sentenced to view from a distance,

The pain, seemingly reminiscent and vaguely repetitious,

Feeling ill, with no vaccine or medicine,

Left alone, to embrace my hurt like a close relative,

All alone, hiding my tears in the rain,

Smile and stay silent, to hide the ever-piercing pain,

What happened, to the love that was supposed to last?

Just as you came into my life, you left just as fast,

Like a game of 21, I pulled the wrong cards,

Left with this heart, eternally scarred.

"To die with a broken heart, is to suffer a fate worst than death."

Key to my heart
Shawn Behem

I had closed the door upon my heart, I wouldn't let anyone in.

I had been trusted, And I had been hurt.

But you would never happen again.

I had locked the door and threw away the key as hard and as far as I could.

Love would never enter their again.

My heart was closed for good then you came into my life and you made me change my mind.

Just then I thought my little key was impossible to find that's when you held out your hand and showed me I was wrong.

Inside it was the key to my heart you had it along!

Piano Blues
Linda B. Jacobs

My piano is blue

with black edges

Drifting in a primitive shade dream

Choking

Wanting air,

Wanting the music that turns blue to gold

I etch him into the plate

I cut deep cuts

Like the pain

Deep

I cover it with shine

then let it dry

Rub it till the colors come

till the colors turn to words

A white piano with pink edges

screaming for a chance

A black scribble piano

with the blues

blues for edges

blues for shade

blues for body

blues for pain

John Lee Hooker sings

to the place where

blue means blue

My piano sighs

I sigh - thankyou

CHASITY

EVERYONE THINKS TIME SHOULD TAKE AWAY THE PAIN,

THEY DON'T SEEM TO UNDERSTAND IT STILL HURTS THE SAME.

AS THREE YEARS HAVE PASSED I KNOW ITS TRUE,

I WILL NEVER AGAIN AGAIN BE ABLE TO HOLD YOU.

THE DAY I GAVE BIRTH TO YOU THE PAIN WAS SO STRONG,

LITTLE DID I KNOW THAT DAY I WOULD NOT HAVE YOU LONG.

ALL I HAVE FROM MY LITTLE GIRL ARE FEW MEMORIES,

THESE PRECIOUS TIMES I WILL ALWAYS CARRY WITH ME

WHEN YOU PASSED AWAY I TRIED SO HARD TO MAKE YOU OPEN YOUR EYES,

WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOUR CHILD DIES

SOME SAY YOU WERE A YOUNG SOUL NOT YET THROUGH,

I BELIEVE GOD WANTED TO HOLD YOU

YOUR ARE IN MY HEART ALWAYS LITTLE SUNSHINE,

SOME HAVE THEIR OWN ANGLES AND YOU ARE MINE

PLEASE ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT I LOVE YOU SO MUCH

THERE IS NOTHING I WOULD NOT DO TO FEEL YOUR TINY TOUCH

I MISS YOU SO MUCH MORE THEN I CAN EVER SAY,

WHEN I GET TO HEAVEN THEN I WILL SEE YOU PLAY

Death Bed
Tommy Boulden

Here I sit and write this poem,

On my death bed.

It probably would be better but,

I know I'll soon be dead.

Look for me in your dreams,

And your masquerades,

For I will be watching you,

All your nights and days.

Death is a part of us,

All the human race.

Even as you're born,

You look it in the face.

So instead of going quiet,

Into the dark of night,

We should not give in,

Stand our ground and fight.

I guess I can't complain,

I should practice what I preach.

But It's much harder to learn,

Then it is to teach.

I hate society

I hate the way

we're expected to be a certain way

I hate the way

most people are puppets

and follow one another

I hate the way

that you get treated

when you are not one of them

Most of all I hate the way

the media focuses on egotistical accomplishments

and not on all the people out there

who help living beings

and that are trying to make

the world a better place

I hate myself

when I worry about what

people will think of me or what they might say

But in all honesty

I don't care.

GOLD (The caretaker)
Daphne Scott

By the time morning arrives I am completely deluded

Full of dirt and mud and poison

in the afternoon I lay on the floor and stare at the ceiling

Making up shapes of faces and people dancing; animals hunting

And me laying below in the bowels of hell, trying not to fall asleep

When night arrives, the fading suns rays puncture holes in the bruised sky

And the eyes of your schizophrenic ancestors look down on you

You and I

Their pupils have no pigment, and i wonder why

Why you are still a mystery to me like a book i never bothered to finish reading

I shut you up and pretended that you died

Stabbed in the back by a blade sharp and cynical and sarcastic as all hell

I hold the knife as i hold your life in my hands

And i keep your withered body in a hospital bed in the spare room feeding you your favorite foods off a silver platter,

with a silver spoon

Until its time to admit the truth that I could have done better for you

Who needs silver

When i could have given you gold

Your First Kiss
~Candace Salas~

When you feel the warmth of your lips against his

that's when you know you've had your first kiss,

All a sudden you begin to sigh

and get the sensation to fly through the sky,

You look into his eyes and begin to feel weak

as if you don't know how to speak,

His arms are instantly around you holding you tight

and then the blue sky turns to night,

You are glowing as bright as a light

even though it is midnight,

He looks at you and you get a devilish smile

and say "I'll be your girl...... for a little while"

---------------------------------

I went back there yesterday

The place that was yours and mine

But with happiness so far away

The sun did now shine

I can still hear your voice

Your smile I can still see

It was but God's choice

To take you from me

I feel so bereft

And there's pain in my heart

Ever since you left

And ripped us apart

How can I live my life?

Which such burning pain

And put up with the strife

Oh God, I'm living in vain!

But there's something I still contain

Something I will keep

The memories still remain

In my heart so deep

Memories of you and I

When you were still here

They make me cry

But I hold them dear
